Luke 6:27-38 Reflection

Luke 6:27-38 Reflection

  Luke 6: 27-38

In this bible passage, God reminds us of two things. First, that we should love our enemies. And second, that we should not judge others, if we ourselves do not want to be judged. When we have, or even consider people our enemies, we commit the sins of pride, envy, greed and most importantly, anger. These four are part of the seven deadly/cardinal sins and these bring us farther from God. In that way, He encourages us to stop living in ignorance and see that loving and praying for your enemies is better than sinning yourself. This is related to his second message: Do not judge others, and you will not be judged either. If we judge others through the lens of hate, we fail to recognise that we ourselves are sinning just as much as them. We, instead should look for the good things in them and continue to love them as yourself. Thank you for listening/reading.
